Road to Chengdu: 300 DAYS TO GO!

Excitement is building as we mark today, 11 October 2024, 300 days until the opening of The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China!

This global sporting spectacle will unite over 4,000 athletes from 100+ countries, competing across 35 sports, 61 disciplines and 254 medal events.

As the countdown ticks away, the anticipation is palpable for what promises to be an unforgettable 10-day event.

IWGA President José Perurena expressed his excitement, highlighting the immense effort behind the event planning:

'The World Games 2025 will be the result of tireless dedication from the Chinese organisers, and the anticipation is building for a truly unforgettable experience. Chengdu is preparing to deliver a Games like no other, bringing together the unity and diversity of the global sports community in a remarkable celebration. We can now also count on the support from the IWGA’s first-ever global partner, Xtep, which will further elevate the success of the Games.”

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
