Powerboating – high-speed action on water
Discipline at The World Games 2025: MotoSurf (biofuel/electric)
A new sport to The World Games, motorized surfing is bringing a whole new experience into the world of powerboating sports. Balancing on a surfboard at speeds up to 60km/h, focusing on the apex around each buoy, while navigating the waves and water spraying from opponents, that’s Motosurf racing. Agility, drive and quick reactions are essential qualities for success in this sport. The action is spectacular, not least with the fierce rivalries on the track! MotoSurf will be the first powerboating sport ever in the The World Games programme.
At The World Games there are individual women’s and men’s classes, and a team event with teams of one male and one female athlete from each nation. Individual races last about 10 minutes on a slalom course with up to 12 laps.
MotoSport acts ‘green’! Biofuel-powered combustion engines will be used in the women’s and men’s competitions, while the team event will use fully-electric motorized surfboards.
