Lausanne (SUI), 5 November 2024 - The International World Games Association (IWGA) is pleased to announce the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Czechia (COC), Italy (CONI) and the Netherlands (NOC*NSF).

The agreements with Italy and the Netherlands were formalised on 30 October in Portugal during the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) General Assembly, while a third MoU was signed two weeks ago in Chengdu, China, with the Czech National Olympic Committee, highlighting the willingness of these sports organisations to collaborate with the IWGA.

These strategic collaborations aim to strengthen ties between the IWGA and the respective NOCs, promote The World Games, and provide greater support to participating athletes in the lead-up to the next edition of The World Games to be hosted in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025.

These MoUs mark a significant step forward in the IWGA’s ongoing mission to foster international partnerships that benefit athletes and enhance the visibility of The World Games brand across all five continents.

Through these partnerships, the IWGA and the NOCs will work closely to coordinate athlete support, facilitate knowledge-sharing, and boost awareness campaigns that highlight the unique value of The World Games in the global sporting community.

“The signing of these agreements with the National Olympic Committees of Italy, the Netherlands, and Czechia underscores our commitment to providing robust support to athletes and expanding the reach of The World Games,” said IWGA President José Perurena.

“We are thrilled to join forces with these respected organisations to bring greater visibility to our shared values and goals. Together, we will foster a vibrant, inclusive sports community that celebrates the best athletes on a global stage.”

These new MoUs build on IWGA's existing network of international partnerships and reflect the association’s commitment to promoting the ideals of fair play, inclusivity, and the spirit of sport worldwide.
