IWGA releases Bid Book for The World Games 2033, bidding process 2033 launched

2 December 2024, Lausanne, Switzerland – The International World Games Association (IWGA) proudly announces the official release of the IWGA Bid Book 2033, a comprehensive Bid Application Document and Questionnaire for cities interesed to host The World Games 2033. With this launch, the IWGA officially opens the bidding process, inviting cities worldwide to put forward their proposals to host this world-class multi-sport event.

The IWGA Bid Book 2033 serves as an essential resource, providing interested cities with a detailed roadmap to deliver an unforgettable event for athletes, fans, and partners from across the globe. Within the document, prospective hosts will find guidelines and critical requirements covering areas such as infrastructural needs, environmental sustainability practices, athlete accommodations, and community engagement plans, all designed to ensure a successful and sustainable event.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
