In a grand celebration marking exactly one year until The World Games 2025 Chengdu, a stunning countdown clock was unveiled at Taikoo Li, one of Chengdu’s most iconic locations.
The clock, provided by the International World Games Association (IWGA) partner Tissot, stands 2.5 meters tall and serves as a striking symbol of the city's anticipation for the global event.
Crafted with precision and elegance, the clock features unique cut-out sides designed to catch the light, creating a dynamic visual effect that has already captivated the attention of passersby.
Strategically placed in the bustling heart of Chengdu, the clock is set to become a centerpiece of excitement as it ticks down the days, hours, and minutes to the opening of The World Games on 7 August 2025.
On the unveiling, IWGA President José Perurena expressed his excitement for the upcoming Games and praised Tissot for their unwavering support.
"This countdown clock not only marks the time until we welcome the world to Chengdu but also stands as a testament to the incredible long-term partnership we have with Tissot. Their commitment to excellence and innovation is perfectly reflected in this stunning timepiece," Perurena said.
As thousands of people cross through Taikoo Li daily, the countdown clock is expected to inspire and build anticipation among locals and visitors alike, symbolising the city’s readiness to host athletes, officials and spectators from around the globe in 2025.
