The IWGA President, Ron Froehlich and CEO Joachim Gossow, on Thursday personally thanked the team of chiropractors at The World Games 2013 Cali for their commitment and treatments provided to the more than 4,500 participants from 101 countries. The Federation International of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) organized these Sports Chiropractors to assist the IWGA and makes possible that athletes receive free treatment in their respective competitions, as many times as needed. Thirtyfive sport chiropractors work during the ten days of competitions in the 25 venues of this multisport event taking place Colombia.
The FICS team in Cali is directed by President Sheila Wilson and Co Chef de Mission Brian Nook and Tim Ray. Ron Froehlich made clear on his thank you speech that the athlete, their health and their right to compete at their peak potential is always a priority. The chiropractors work is effective in injury prevention and also in healing processes. The duty of these volunteers could have never been estimated enough. Only in the first six days of competitions more than 1000 athletes made use of this service.
Since the seventh edition of The World Games 2005 in Duisburg, FICS and IWGA are partners. The association allows the provision of a voluntary service and has very successfully worked with the other medical services provided at these games.
