Elections to the Executive Committee of the IWGA

Two New Members “on Board”

BELEK/TURKEY (07/04/2014). José Perurena (Spain) was elected as the new IWGA President today at the Annual General Meeting of the International World Games Association in Belek, Turkey. Moreover Max Bishop was reelected as Vice President. At the meeting this Monday Lukas Hinder was also unanimously appointed as Treasurer of the IWGA by the delegates of its 36 member federations. A further member of the IWGA board will again be Tom Dielen. Anna Arzhanova (President of the World Underwater Federation) and Prof. Fumio Morooka (World Flying Disc Federation) were voted in as new Executive Committee members. All member federations were present at the Annual General Meeting and elected the board for a four-year-tenure until 2018.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
