Poland vs Thailand: Saturday fight night in Wroclaw

PLAKAT-MAC-DRUK-WMCOn 24 October the Orbita Hall in Wroclaw will host the first Muaythai match ever between Poland and Thailand. The Polish and Thai fighters will compete in one of the world's most popular martial arts. Muaythai is in the program of The World Games 2017 and it has chances of being among the sports of the Summer Olympic Games 2020.

One of the world's largest professional organizations of this sportg - World Muaythai Council (WMC) has decided that in the course of the Wrocław gala the fighters will compete for the belts of the intercontinental champions. Representatives of IFMA – International Federation of Muaythai Amateur will support the event as well as IWGA CEO Joachim Gossow

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Polish Association of Muaythai, the City of Wrocław, as well as the Organizing Committee of The World Games 2017 are the honorary patrons of the event.

Participants from Thailand will be the favourites. Thanelek Chompon, Seksurin, Robert Kit Kor Wit and Lek Light – all of them have fought in a few hundred professional fights and won the champion titles in the past.The local supporters hope for a good performance of Paweł Jędrzejczy, who is the multiple world champion in kickboxing. He is also the first Pole who fought and won at the famous stadiums in Thailand - Lumpinee and Rajadamnern. Paweł Jędrzejczy trains at the Puncher Wrocław Club’s gym under the watchful eye of Janusz Janowski.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk - the best Polish Muaythai fighter and MMA champion as well as the former boxer and kickboxing world champion Przemysław Saleta are among those, who encourage to participate in the gala. 

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
