Michał Turyński: next Ambassador of TWG2017
Wrocław Organizing Committee announced next ambassador of The World Games 2017. The ceremony took place during the Polish Kickboxing championship (K-1 category). The competition was held Wroclaw, capital of Lower Silesia, last weekend. Kickboxing is one of four invitational sports on the programme of TWG 2017 (20-30 July).
Michał Turyński is 30-year's old athlete from Fighter Wroclaw club, and current professional world champion in prestigious organization WAKO PRO in kickboxing (He won the world champion title against Dzevad Poturak in March, in Sarajevo.). “Awarding Michał Turyński as an ambassoador of TWG 2017 is our great appreciation for his achievements and his attitude to life,” said Marcin Przychodny, President of the Wrocław Organizing Committee.
Marcin Przychodny added: “We believe that Kickboxing will attract enormous media coverage and will be popular among the fans. I believe that this is right way to promote kickboxing and non-Olimpic sports.”
“Thank you very much for this title. It is an honor for Polish kickboxing. I promise that, together with the entire national team, we will give our best during The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw,” declared Michael Turyński.
He joined the team of Ambassadors of The World Games 2017 that includes:
- Maciej Janowski, speedway, captain of the Polish national team, World Champion (Team)
- Anna Lewandowska, former karate champion and popular personal trainer
- Mariusz Czerkawski, former NHL player
- Zbigniew Bródka, speed skater and rollerskater, Olympic Champion
- Babatunde Aiyegbusi, American Football player
- Renata Mauer-Różańska, Two Times Olympic Champion, shooting
- Paweł Rańda, rower, Olympic silver medallist
