“The Best Games Ever”

In November the completion managers of all the 27 participating federations met for the first time in Wroclaw. The President of the International World Games Association (IWGA) José Perurena explained his high expectations for The World Games 2017 in Poland: “We have to deliver nothing less than the best World Games ever.” And he also clarified his requirements for 10th edition of the multi-sport event: “We want to demonstrate that our sports are on the same level as the Olympic sports.” Wroclaw Vice-Mayor Wojciech Adamski, supported these expectations: “We can see the

Organizing Committee, the IWGA, and the International Federations working togetheras a team. We are heading in the right direction.”

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
