Media Accreditation

The accreditation process for the 9th Edition of The World Games from 25 July to 4 August 2013 in Cali, Colombia, has now started. Media representatives can apply for accreditation for this multi-sport event  (over 4000 participants in 31 disciplines) from 1 February to 31 May. This was announced today by the Cali Local Organizing Committee.

Through the website at www.worldgames2013.com.co, media representatives can log themselves into the accreditation system. The required documents can be filled in online under the “press room” section. All relevant information on the accreditation process can be found here as well.

Accreditation-processTWG2013-largeThe World Games 2013 are the largest multi-sport event in the whole world this year. The event takes place every four years in the year following the Olympic Games. It showcases 30+ non-Olympic sports, including Dance Sport, Squash, Tug of War, Sumo and Karate. The World Games have most recently taken place in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei, in 2009 and Duisburg, Germany, in 2005.


 

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
