21 sets of medals, both Individual and Team, are up for grabs today – 8 in Life Saving, 4 in Speed Skating and Bowling, the first 2 in Canoe Marathon, 2 in Parkour and the medals in Parachute Canopy Piloting.  It’s the first day of competition for both Canoe Marathon and Beach Handball, and the last for Air Sports, Bowling, Life Saving and Speed Skating. Allover 14 sports are on the programme for Monday.

It’s finals day in Bowling at Jefferson Complex, with the bronze medal matches and finals in both Tenpin Doubles and Singles (men and women). The Parachute Canopy Piloting have to make it up for the competition session which had to be postponed due weather reasons on Sunday things will hopefully run smoothly in the early evening at Barber Motorsports Park. In Life Saving at the Cross Plex - Natatorium there are medal events for men and women in Manikin Tow, Manikin Carry, Manikin Relay and 4 x 50m Medley Relay. Speed Skating at Powell Steam Plant has medal races for men and women in Road Elimination and Road Sprint (1 lap) classes.

Parkour continues today at Sloss Furnaces with medal events in Freestyle Women and Speed Men. It’s the first day for Canoe Marathon at Double Oak Lake, in the Oak Mountain State Park; there are qualification races and finals today for men and women in K1 Short Distance.
Sloss Furnaces hosts men’s and women’s Beach Handball too, with 8 Preliminary matches in both classes today. At Harris Arena, men’s Inline Hockey reaches the Placement match and Semi-final stages.

It’s mid-tournament competition day in the Field Recurve (man and women) discipline in Archery at Avondale Park. Floorball reaches the Semi-final and Placement Match stage at Jefferson Complex, and in Lacrosse at the Compass Soccer Stadium it’s the day for Placement matches in the Outdoor Sixes Men class. Preliminary matches take place today around the city in Flag Football, Softball, Fistball, and Racquetball.

 The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association, organised with the support of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 7-17 July 2022. 3,600 athletes from 34 sports and over 100 countries will take part in The World Games.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
