Voting for the IWGA Athlete/Team of the Year 2014

Nino Langella & Khrystyna Moshenska take the lead

The title race is still open. When it comes to choosing the IWGA Athlete/Team of the Year, the decisive vote has not yet been cast. Until January 31st supporters can still help their favorite athlete(s) win by voting on the website: www.theworldgames.org.

Looking at the preliminary results after the first ten days of voting, the Italian Latin Dance couple Nino Langella & Khrystyna Moshenska, Athletes of the Month for September, are currently leading with 24.3 % of the votes. Second is the Czech climber Adam Ondra (Athlete of the Month for August) with 20.2 % of the votes. The third place currently goes to the Powerlifter Carl Yngvar Christensen from Norway (16.2 %), Athlete of the Month for November.

However, nothing has been decided yet. Friends and fans of a particular sport, athlete or team can still cast their vote on a daily basis. Those who know how to mobilize their supporters can still come out on top. Voting closes on January 31st.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
