Road to Chengdu 2025: Global torch design contest launched

The Chengdu 2025 Organising Committee has officially opened a global contest inviting creative minds to design the official torch for The World Games 2025 (TWG).

Artists, designers, and sports enthusiasts from around the world are encouraged to submit their proposals, showcasing their unique vision for the iconic torch, which will be part of a nation-wide relay from June to August 2025.

The submission deadline is set for 27 September 2024, and applicants can find all relevant guidelines and entry instructions here.

This contest presents an exciting opportunity for designers to leave their mark on the prestigious international event which will take place from 7-17 August 2025.

In international sports event, the torch is a symbol of unity, tradition which embodies the spirit of competition, making it an essential element.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
