On27 February, the Birmingham Organizing committee of The World Games 2021 revealed a new, innovative way to share the excitement of The 2021 Games with the city of Birmingham.
The World Games 2021 Experience delivered by Shipt is an interactive mobile unit which visits events and locations throughout the Birmingham area. Sponsored by same-day delivery marketplace Shipt, the traveling vehicle features a Sport Climbing wall, a Sumo wrestling station, photo opportunities with Powerlifting and a trivia challenge where guests have the chance to win prizes. All of the activities are completely free and open to all ages.
For its first public appearance, the unit visited the 15th Annual MortgageBanc Chili Cook-Off in Birmingham, Alabama. Over 400 people visited the unit during the five-hour event, enjoying Sumo wrestling and group photos using the Powerlifting prop.
As the event progressed, a variety of prizes were awarded to winners of the digital trivia game, including nearly 100 Sumo wrestler dolls, 24 pairs of Shipt sunglasses and over 50 t-shirts.
During the event, Birmingham Organizing Committee CEO DJ Mackovets shared information on the interactive exhibit and offered background on what The World Games are and how the community can get involved. While he was speaking, two volunteers threw Sumo dolls and t-shirts from the stage, sparking tangible excitement throughout the crowd.
The World Games 2021 Experience delivered by Shipt had an extremely successful debut and is anticipated to perform just as exceptionally at future events throughout 2019 and beyond.
While the official schedule of future stops hasn’t been announced yet, fans can request the unit to visit events around Alabama that they’re holding. This unique feature allows The World Games 2021 team to branch out to new locations throughout the state and share the message of The World Games 2021 with a bigger audience than ever before.

The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 15-25 July 2021. 3,600 athletes from over 30 sports and 100 countries will take part in the Games.
