President’s Letter to The World Games

US President Joe Biden has sent a letter of appreciation to the organisers of The Word Games 2022. In his letter, Joe Biden stated:

“The United States is honored to host this year’s competition in Birmingham, Alabama – a city that has long inspired a common dream for a better world.”

He also addressed his letter to the athletes, praising their discipline, endurance and commitment, which he claims as inspiring for everyone. Joe Biden concluded his letter with the words:

“I applaud all those who made this wonderful event possible. I congratulate all the athletes of The World Games on your participation. You should all be proud of your accomplishments.”

 The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association, organised with the support of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games is held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 7-17 July 2022. 3,600 athletes from 34 sports and over 100 countries take part in The World Games.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
