Korfball Draw official

International Korfball Federation made a draw to establish the pools for The World Games Korfball Event to be held from 31 July to 4 August 2013 in Cali, Colombia. Pool A contains the teams from The Netherlands, Great Britain, Portugal and Czech Republic, while in Pool B Belgium, Chinese Taipei, Russia and Germany will compete. "During the International Korfball Federation Executive Committee April 21st 2013 meeting the IKF Exco made a draw to establish the pools for the World Games Korfball Event to be held from 31 July to 4 August 2013 in Cali, Colombia.The World Games as multi sports event will take place from 24 July till 4 August.The World Games is the most important korfball event in the IKF’s 2013 calendar.

The result of the draw is:

Pool A: 1. The Netherlands, 2. Great Britain, 3. Portugal and 4. Czech Republic.

Pool B: 1. Belgium, 2. Chinese Taipei, 3. Russia and 4. Germany.

The teams in all four lines were drawn with each set of two teams based on the current IKF Ranking. The Netherlands is the current holder of the World Games Korfball following the last event held in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei in 2009. The IKF will publish the match schedule for this World Games Korfball event before 4 May 2013."

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
