Invitational Sports Announced 

Wroclaw (20.04.2014). Speedway, Kickboxing, American Football and Indoor Rowing - these four disciplines were selected for the Invitational Program of The World Games 2017. This was announced by the City of Wroclaw and the Wroclaw Organizing Committee.

This proposition has already been approved by the International World Games Association (IWGA). Piotr Przygonski, President of Wroclaw Organizing Committee reminded that the short list included eight sports from which up to five disciplines with no more than 800 participants could have been selected.

Piotr Przygonski said: “We will now sign an organizing agreement with each of the international federations of the four sports. We would like to sign the agreements with selected federations no later than mid-May. The 10th edition of the World Games will take place in Wroclaw (Poland) from the 3rd until August 13th 2017. 






The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
