Chengdu, China - 10 March 2025 - The International World Games Association (IWGA) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) have officially unveiled the medals for The World Games Series (TWGS) set to take place in Chengdu (CHN) from 28-30 March 2025 at the Chengdu Sport University Sancha Lake Campus.

These exquisite medals celebrate the city’s unique cultural heritage while embodying the spirit of excellence and unity that define The World Games and its latest event, TWGS.

The medal design incorporates key elements symbolising Chengdu’s identity and global significance. Featured prominently are the iconic Jinyun Tower, representing the city's deep historical roots, and Tianfu International Airport, symbolising Chengdu’s connectivity to the world. The city’s beloved panda mascot adds a touch of warmth and national pride, while bamboo motifs reflect resilience and growth. Completing the design, the hibiscus flower, Chengdu’s city flower, elegantly frames the medal, paying homage to the host city’s natural beauty.

IWGA President José Perurena expressed enthusiasm for the design, stating: “These medals perfectly capture the essence of Chengdu and the spirit of The World Games Series. They honour the athletes' dedication and achievements while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the host city featuring iconic elements. We look forward to an unforgettable second edition of TWGS that gathers 128 athletes from three spectacular sports and showcases both sporting excellence and Chengdu’s warm hospitality.”

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of TWGS Chengdu also shared their excitement: “The medals represent Chengdu’s fusion of tradition and modernity. They are a tribute to the Life Saving, Underwater and Boules Sports athletes who will give their all during the two-day competition, and we cannot wait to welcome the world to Chengdu Sport University for this extraordinary event.”

The World Games Series in Chengdu will bring together 128 elite athletes, achieving full gender parity (64 in Underwater, 48 in Life Saving, 16 in Boules Sports), while more than 25 countries will be competing.

With the unveiling of these stunning medals, the countdown to an electrifying event offering additional coveted qualification spots to The World Games 2025 has officially begun.
