Ron Froehlich has been named an Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Distinguished American Sportsman for 2015
Ron Froehlich, Honorary Life President of the International World Games Association has been named an Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Distinguished American Sportsman for 2015. The 47th Annual Induction Ceremony was held on Saturday at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel. IWGA CEO Joachim Gossow attended the ceremony in Ron Froehlich’s hometown Birmingham /Alabama. IWGA President José Perurena sent his congratulations to his predecessor in office:
"Dear Ron,
On behalf of the whole IWGA family it is my pleasure to send my congratulations. Being named an Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Distinguished American Sportsman for 2015 is a great honor and please let me add: This induction is well deserved because for more than two decades you were the engine of The World Games.
Moreover, you made our success happen. You served for nearly 25 years as the President of the IWGA. And you are serving now as Honorary Life President who brings his experience and his advice for the benefit of The World Games.
We have to thank you for all your efforts. It is your merit that our Games and the IWGA present themselves in a way that allows us to rise to the next level. You have always dedicated yourself to the world of sports as a volunteer. I would like to say: Your award gives credit to all the volunteers in sports. I think this makes your honor even more valuable.
