Voting for The World Games Athlete of the Year has begun at high tempo! After 10 days, as many as 45,000 votes have already been cast for the 21 candidates from 21 sports.

After 15th January, the nine best continue in the race to become IWGA Athlete of the Year. The winner will be announced on 1st February and will receive, amongst other prizes, an engraved Tissot watch.

At the present time the Tug of War team from England is on spot 9 with 822 votes, but anything can change when the fans are making their best efforts to support their candidate.

Everyone can vote once per day on the dedicated Athlete of the Year page.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
