The first winner at The World Games 2022 was decided in a very tight race in Women’s Speed Skating Time Trial 200 m. In Time Trial, the athletes compete one by one, and the fastest time wins. In 2017 the distance was 300 m, and the winner Geiny Pajaro, Colombia. This year the distance was reduced to only 200 m, but the best remained the best: Geiny Pajaro Guzman won the race, just 0.126 seconds faster than Asja Varani from Italy. Chinese Taipei’s Ying-Chu Chen grabbed the bronze medal.

Also in Men’s Time Trial 200 m, the reigning The World Games champion was fastest. This time it was gold for Italy and and Duccio Marsili, followed by Colombia’s Andres Jimenez Torres only 0.038 seconds after. The bronze medal went to Yvan Sivilier from France.

This Super Friday continues with finals in Speed Skating, Karate, Finswimming, Powerlifting and DanceSport. Competing in Speed Skating is the Olympic Champion from February 2022, Bart Swings (BEL), and in Karate the Olympic gold medallist Sandra Sanchez (ESP), amongst others.
