Death of Borislav Pelevic

published on 30 October, 2018

It was with great sadness that The World Games family learned of the sudden death of the President of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), Professor Borislav Pelevic. He passed away on 25 October 2018.

“This has come as a tremendous shock. We know how much the President contributed to sport, and indeed to The World Games. He will be very difficult to replace”, said IWGA President José Perurena.

A true leader in Kickboxing, Borislav Pelevic was a professor of Sport Administration and an active professor in Belgrade University. He was former president of the nationalist Party of Serbian Unity and a member of the Serbian Parliament.

He was founder and president of the Serbian Kickboxing federation and brought the sport to this country. He was a WAKO IF board member and elected to the presidency of WAKO in 2015.

The thoughts of The World Games Family are with Professor Pelevic’s beloved ones at this very difficult time.
