Athlete of September 2020

Orienteering is one of those sports where the competitors are outdoors and do not need to meet each other too closely. This makes organising and participating in competitions easier – and possible at the moment.

Latvian orienteer Sandra Grosberga has fully enjoyed this opportunity, and competed in – and won with a good margin – three Latvian championships this autumn. This supreme athlete is our Athlete of September 2020!

Sandra Grosberga started to collect gold medals in July on Long Distance. She won the 10.9 km long orienteering race with a margin greater than 7 minutes! In August, the 25-year-old athlete won the Sprint distance race in the city of Valmiera, and finally in September the Middle Distance. Grosberga will be a name to watch out for at next year’s World Championships – and of course at The World Games in 2022, where the very best in the world meet!

As The World Games Athlete of September 2020, Sandra Grosberga will receive The World Games Athlete of the Month diploma as well as a branded gift from the Official Sponsor of Athlete of the Month, Protective Life.
