600 days until The World Games 2017

Today Wrcoclaw celebrates “600 days until The World Games 2017” at the Pasaż Grunwaldzki shopping mall. Citizens will have the opportunity to experience and to practice several of the 27 sports which will be showcased at the 10th edition of TWG in 2017.

poster 600 days until TWG 2017During the event on Saturday, there will be numerous demonstrations and workshops led by athletes of The World Games. Muaythai boxers, karate fighters from the Wrocław Asian Sports Club "Budokan" as well as numerous dance athletes will all be present to show off their skills.

The main attraction will be a show put on by Anna Madzielec and Jacek Tarczyło - three-time world champions in acrobatic rock'n'roll along with participants of the British edition of "Got Talent.” It will also be possible to try your hand at playing squash and push your limits on a rowing ergometer. Members of the Polish water rescue team, who regularly win medals in international competitions, will be on hand to provide first aid instructions.

The event at the shopping mall will certainly raise the interest in the World Games Sports and the anticipation of ten completion days from 20 to 30 July 2017.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
