1 MONTH TO GO: Countdown to TWG Series Chengdu

With just one month remaining, excitement is building for the second edition of The World Games Series, set to take place in Chengdu from 28-30 March This event serves as a key milestone on the road to The World Games 2025, also set to be hosted in Chengdu.

Organised by the International World Games Association (IWGA) in collaboration with the Local Organising Committee (LOC), the Chengdu Series will bring together elite athletes from three thrilling sports: Underwater (World Underwater Federation, CMAS), Life Saving (International Life Saving Federation, ILS) and Boules Sports (World Pétanque and Boules Federation, WPBF).

The competition will take place at a premier venue, Chengdu Sport University Sancha Lake Campus, where a total of 128 athletes (full gender parity) will battle for qualification spots for The World Games 2025.

IWGA President José Perurena shared his anticipation: “As we mark 30 days until the next leg of The World Games Series in Chengdu, the excitement continues to grow. This event is not only a crucial step in the journey toward The World Games 2025 but also an incredible opportunity for athletes to shine on the global stage. Chengdu will provide a dynamic platform for world-class competition and cultural celebration, reinforcing the spirit of The World Games.”

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The next edition of TWG will be in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA).
