CloseMen’s Tug of War 640 kg has been on the programme of The World Games since the beginning,and Switzerland has pulled in this weight class for all these years. They have won 6 gold and 4 silver medals; this is a country-record at The World Games. In 2022 they won gold both at The World Games and at the World Championships. Their coach has a silver from the Games in 1981 and gold from 2005!

CloseLatvia played an outstanding event at The World Games 2022 finishing fourth. It was their first time in the medal Games, and they got good results against all top teams (6-6 draw against the reigning World Champions Sweden). Their goalkeeper Janis Salcevics was awarded the Athlete of the Day on 12th July and was also included in the tournament All-Star Team.
CloseUSA Women's Softball Team won the Softball final at The World Games 2022 on home soil in a re-match against the reigning Olympic champions from Tokyo 2020, Japan.
CloseCanada’s Women’s team won their first-ever senior gold medal in the country’s history at The World Games 2022. They defeated rivals USA, the highest seeded team in the tournament, in a thrilling 14-12 final (tied 12-12 in the fourth quarter). They went 5-0 overall with a final goal differential of +34. The team was led by the most productive player in the women’s competition: Aurora Cordingley with 13 goals and 9 assists.
CloseThe Netherlands were always the team to beat at The World Games 2022. They came to Birmingham to claim the gold medal, and that’s what they did. Their victory at this edition was a special one, as it marked their 10th title in The World Games history. Furthermore, the team made various efforts to promote and develop Korfball in Birmingham before and during The World Games. They were involved in various Korfball clinics at elementary schools, and convinced Basketball legend Charles Barkley to take a chance at Korfball during a meet-up in the city.
CloseCroatia won The World Games gold for the first time in 2022. It was their second championship gold in two months, after winning the 2022 IHF Beach Handball World Championship in June.
CloseSara Lopez and Daniel Munoz (COL) won the Mixed Team Archery World Cup earlier in 2022 and repeated their victory at The World Games, with the tightest possible result against the Netherlands.
CloseThe French women's Canoe Polo team won their first-ever World Games title in Birmingham 2022, ending the dominating run of the German team who were red hot pre-Games favourites.
CloseOut of the 12 Team USA Muaythai athletes that competed at The World Games 2022, eight came home with a medal. Charlsey Maner and Aaron Ortiz won USA’s first-ever Muaythai gold medals at The World Games. Bronze-medallist Janet Garcia won the IFMA Best Wai Kru Award.
